1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using LostKeyGuard ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.

LostKeyGuard provides a concierge key recovery service that facilitates the return of lost vehicle keys through a network of finders, without exposing owner identity to third parties.

2. Service Description

LostKeyGuard offers:

• QR-coded tags that can be attached to vehicle keys
• A finder reporting system that allows Good Samaritans to report found keys
• Privacy-protected communication between finders and owners
• Prepaid return shipping coordination
• Verified custody chain tracking
• Finder reward disbursement

3. User Accounts

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activities that occur under your account
• Providing accurate and complete registration information
• Updating your information to keep it current

You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Tag Purchase and Ownership

When you purchase a LostKeyGuard tag:

• You receive a physical tag with a unique QR code
• The tag remains your property once purchased
• Tags are non-transferable and must be activated by the purchasing account
• Lost or damaged tags can be replaced by purchasing new tags

5. Recovery Service

When a key is reported found:

• A recovery fee of $129 is charged to the owner upon approval
• The fee covers return shipping, handling, and finder reward
• Owners must approve returns by verifying photo evidence
• Finders receive a $50 reward after successful key verification
• Premium tag holders receive expedited processing and shipping

LostKeyGuard does not guarantee key recovery. Recovery depends on keys being found and reported by Good Samaritans.

6. Finder Terms

By reporting a found key, finders agree to:

• Provide accurate contact information
• Upload clear photos of the found key with tag visible
• Ship the key using the provided prepaid label
• Not attempt to contact the key owner directly
• Not retain copies of any key or attempt to duplicate it

Finder rewards are paid via PayPal or Venmo after key verification at our processing hub.

7. Prohibited Uses

You may not use the Service to:

• Submit fraudulent recovery claims
• Attempt to identify key owners through the QR codes
• Duplicate, copy, or reverse-engineer any keys
• Use automated systems to scan or enumerate tag codes
• Harass, threaten, or defraud other users
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations

8. Payment Terms

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. By making a purchase, you agree to:

• Pay all fees associated with your purchases
• Provide valid payment information
• Authorize charges to your payment method

Tag purchases are non-refundable. Recovery fees may be refunded if the key is not successfully returned due to our error.

9. Limitation of Liability

LostKeyGuard is not liable for:

• Keys that are never found or reported
• Damage to keys during shipping
• Unauthorized use of recovered keys by third parties
• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Loss of use of your vehicle during the recovery process

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the preceding 12 months.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LostKeyGuard, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

11. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
